Permission to Possess and Consume Beer in a City Park

  • The group requesting beer consumption at a city-owned park must contact the Chief of Police prior to the requested date. The group must appoint a representative with one alternate to represent the group making the request.
  • The representative and the alternate must oversee the actions of the participating individuals throughout the entire duration of the requested function.
  • The representative and the alternate shall restrict the transportation of open containers of beer from the designated area.
  • The representative or the alternate shall, as soon as possible, contact the Police Department if criminal acts are committed or public safety is jeopardized as a result of the requested function.
  • Complete cooperation shall also be given to the Police Department if contact is made by said police personnel.
  • The Chief of Police or his agent shall have the option at any time to terminate said function as public safety and/or other circumstances dictate.
  • A rejection of said request is totally at the discretion of the Public Safety Commissioner and the Chief of Police.
  • The group making said request shall obey all State laws, City ordinances, and all the guidelines set forth in this request.
  • The group making said request shall be responsible for cleaning and returning the use area to a normal state.
  • The group shall not extend the function beyond the hours of 2200 hours (10:00pm).
  • Said request is only in effect for the date and time listed below and shall not extend beyond that time.
  • Permits are not allowed for the Aquatic Center Park during the open season.
  • No bottles will be allowed; cans only.
